where do I find the source code for Speedy BL? I keep hearing it is free, but I never find it, not even in you're links

You can order programmed IC's from Jo Aichinger, I don't think there's a downloadable .hex file on Jo's Speedy-BL pages. You can contact Jo in English or German.

As far as i know Quax's and Takao Shimizu's designs in the BLDC discusions are the only ones free in all of the terms(soft & schematics/pcb).
